B.Sc. - Post Certificate - in Nursing
Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing is a broad based education aimed to build upon the skills and competencies acquired at the Diploma in Nursing level. The course is intended to enable the graduates to assume responsibility as professional competent nurses and midwives at basic level in providing promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services. Make independent decisions in nursing situations, protect the rights of and facilitate individuals and groups in pursuit of health, function in the hospital, community nursing services, and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice. They are also expected to assume the role of teacher, supervisor and manager in clinical/public health settings.

Eligibility for Admission The candidate seeking admission must: 1. hold a diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) 2. be a registered nurse 3. have passed pre university examination in arts/science/commerce conducted by Department of Pre University Education, Karnataka State or its equivalent recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore 4. have working knowledge of English 5. be medically fit 6. have good personal and professional record. |
| Age requirement:
No candidate who is above 48 years of age on 31st December of the year of admission shall be eligible for the course.

Duration of the Programme
The course of study shall be for two academic years from the date of commencement of term notified by the university.
